Brady’s faith and politics are very important to him. In 2004, he began blogging, sharing his thoughts on each topic. He had long kept personal journals, so the transition was an easy one. What began as a way for Brady to share thoughts for friends and family turned into a series of successful blogs. The experience has been very positive, with a lot of feedback of people moved by his posts. The internet as it is, there has also been some challenges. Brady continues blogging about his religious and political views, but more as a hobby than anything else. He would love to blog more one day.
Brady Speers has been active in local, state, and national politics since the early 2000s. A lifelong conservative, he believes in conservative principles such as maintaining a small central government, protecting personal freedoms, and finding ways to responsibly cut spending. A finance professional, he is increasingly concerned that we tend to spend too recklessly.
Republicanism is a part of his family background. His great-grandfather was involved in following and reporting about Franklin D. Roosevelt’s presidential campaign last century, a source of pride in the Speers household. Inspired by candidates running for local office when he was in his late 20′s, Brady started making donations and paying closer attention. As time went on, his political action increased. In the early 2000′s, he started helping regularly with fundraising efforts for conservative candidates, helping to spread the word around his local community (Mansfield, TX) and beyond. He was particularly active with George W. Bush’s 2004 campaign, being invited to and attending his Presidential Dinner and helping to galvanize the community to come out and support the former governor.
Over the years, Brady Speers has shifted his political focus to local and state level campaigns and causes. When asked if he would ever run for office, he politely declines the thought. He worries about how the world of politics would affect his family, including three children. But he continues to be an active voice in his community, despite the demands of a successful career, to help promote his conservative values and put the best people in office.
Brady is hopeful about the future, seeing more and more good people running for office. He is inspired by the growing attention to local politics where so much good is being accomplished. There is a lot of work to be done, for sure, and sometimes it seems that just about everything could use a decent overhaul. Even still, he believes we’re heading toward a positive future, and intends to continue being a constructive voice that will help to shape his county, his state, and his country for the better.
On a more personal side, Brady lives in Mansfield, Texas, and is happily married to his wife Julie. They have identical twin girls and a son. Brady is heavily involved in his church and is the co-founder of an adoption ministry called “Embrace”. He spends most of his free time with his family, but he also enjoys writing, photography and cheering on his favorite sports team, the Dallas Cowboys.
